3DV Systems Ltd, the world leader in 3D Video, and winner of four major awards at NAB 1999, has once again chosen NAB to demonstrate new technology to power its revolutionary end-to-end 3D video solution. To be seen for the first time at NAB 2000 is the 3DV Systems end-to-end 3D solution, which enhances the consumers' viewing experience - either on a PC or via the more traditional television receiver - by producing 3D viewing and interactive capabilities. Based on the Zcam depth sensing technology, the end-to-end concept provides a complete solution from 3D content creation to 3D home viewing, and can be used to broadcast a variety of events from sporting occasions to musical concerts - all in 3D - to the home through broadband and low band Internet, analog cable, digital cable, satellite and wireless DTV. A major advance for broadcast media, it supports all video transmission standards, including NTSC/PAL, MPEG and DTV.Additionally, to be seen at NAB 2000 is the first production version of the Zcam, first seen in prototype form at NAB 1999, that enables real-time 3D data capture and manipulation. This breakthrough camera captures both color (RGB) and depth (Z) for each pixel. Designed as an add-on to color studio cameras, the Zcam delivers a range of advanced new features and timesaving functionality, such as keying in natural environments and ""screen-less"" blue-screen imaging - utilizing depth key rather than Chroma key.Zcam has won been honored with the following awards: - Television Broadcast: Editor's Pick of the Show, NAB 1999 - Videography: Editor's Choice Award, NAB 1999 - The Tommy Award 1999 - Advanced Imaging: Imaging Solution of the Year Award 1999
