D-BOX Technologies Inc. (DBO.A on the TSX Venture Exchange), a leader in innovative motion technology for the entertainment industry, has announced that Santikos Theatres' Silverado 19 in Tomball will feature the company's breakthrough motion technology. Santikos Theatres is yet another new chain to install 30 (two full rows) of D-BOX MFX Seating just in time for the December 25 opening of "Sherlock Holmes."
Texas-based Santikos Theatres is the first movie theatre in Houston to install the innovative motion technology. Twelve theatres in North America are now equipped with the one-of-a-kind motion technology and "Sherlock Holmes" is the ninth film and fourth one with Warner Bros. Pictures.
"Houston is a highly desirable city for us and another large debut market," said Claude Mc Master, President and Chief Executive Officer of D-BOX Technologies. "This year alone we have introduced D-BOX in six U.S. states and two Canadian provinces and are excited for a new city to have the opportunity to experience D-BOX. We have big plans in the coming months and are looking towards many more theatre openings with Santikos Theatres."
"We are thrilled to introduce D-BOX to our customers in Houston. We are looking forward to a very favorable response and the opportunity to bring this exciting new technology to more of our theatres." said John Santikos, President and CEO of Santikos Theatres.
The patented technology, D-BOX Motion Code(TM), is embedded frame by frame, onto each film by D-BOX Motion Designers, perfectly synching the onscreen action with the motion sensations of each seat. Additionally, seats come fully-equipped with personalized intensity adjustments allowing movie viewers the opportunity to experience as much or as little action as desired. For those looking to skip the long theatre lines, many D-BOX theatres offer online ticket purchasing as well so seats for the D-BOX experience can be reserved in advance, guaranteeing a great seat for the movie.
