Story Synopsis:
17 Again raises the question: If you somehow had the chance, would you do your life over? Thirtysomething Mike O'Donnell (Perry) would. Then one mysteriously magical moment, Mike gets his chance. He's suddenly back at Hayden High, where he's the star of the basketball team, a total hottie and a classmate to his own teenage kids...which gives Mike (Efron) a chance to go from not-so-good dad to really cool friend. (Gary Reber)
Picture:
The 1080p VC-1 picture is terrific, with a nicely saturated color palette and hues that are rich and vibrant. Fleshtones appear natural throughout. Contrast is good, with deep and solid blacks and shadow delineation that is revealing. Images are sharp and clear, and dimension is, at times, excellent. Facial features and objects are nicely defined. This is a vibrant, colorful picture that is appealing throughout. (Gary Reber)
Sound:
The Dolby® TrueHD 5.1-channel soundtrack is nicely produced, though, dialogue is conventional production sound and ADR, with at times, poor limited spatial integration. Particular scenes completely collapse to monaural. Otherwise, the sound is dynamic and spatial, with an aggressive, directionalized soundfield. The music score is lively and aggressively present in the surrounds, which enhances the holosonic® presence. Bass response is, at times, deep and energized in the .1 LFE channel. This is a nicely energized soundtrack that works well. (Gary Reber)
