Sonance is offering a line of in-ceiling speakers featuring the company's Sonic Eyeô Technology, including the elliptical-shaped Sonance Ellipseô 1.0 LCR, and the Virtuoso in-ceiling speaker line: the 833DR , 832DR, 831DR, 830DR, and RS2.Sonance's Sonic Eye Technology is a concentric driver array, with controlled dispersion to allow the tweeter/midrange array to pivot up to 20 degrees. The elliptical footprint allows for an angled baffle design that is recessed into the ceiling.The Ellipse 1.0 LCR features a 1/2-inch cloth dome pivoting tweeter, a 4-inch polypropylene cone pivoting midrange, and a 6 1/2-inch woven composite glass cone woofer, which is capable of reproducing bass down to 50 Hz. The speaker can be installed in flat or angled ceilings for home theatre use. Standard accessories include an acoustical enclosure, staple template, and FlexBar mounting technology. The Sonance Ellipse 1.0 LCR has a suggested retail price of $350 per speaker.The Virtuoso RS2 round five-driver speaker, including an 8-inch woven glass woofer with a GRABS (Glass Reinforced ABS) basket that is designed to allow for maximum air flow around the back of the speaker.The RS2 features two 3-inch coaxial midrange tweeters, with concentric tweeters situated at a 15-degree angle to create a diffuse soundfield.
