Genesis Launches Top-Of-The-Line G7 Samba At The Southwest Audio Fest 2025

March 19, 2025

Press Release

Genesis Advanced Technologies launched a new entry-level line-up of three passive floor
standing loudspeakers at the Pacific Audio Fest in 2023. Now, after another two years of development, Genesis
is proud to announce the top of the line – the servo-active G7 Samba – to be launched at the Southwest Audio
Fest in Dallas, TX.

The original Genesis® 7-series started as bookshelf speakers in 2005: the G7c (Convertible) was designed by
Arnie Nudell, followed by the G7p (Petite) designed by his design successor in Genesis, Gary Leonard Koh. A floor
standing G7f with an active side firing woofer was launched in 2010 and won Best of Innovations for Home
Theater Speakers at the 2010 International CES. The line was retired in 2018 with a planned re-launch in 2020.
“The Samba was designed to utilize all the technologies we’ve developed in Genesis over the past 30 years,” said
Gary Leonard Koh, Chief Designer and CEO of Genesis Advanced Technologies. “I was not content to just deliver
a passive G7 line, I wanted to use what I learned in development of the Genesis Maestro and the Genesis Tribute
in servo-control.”

“The beauty of Gary’s designs is such that even the ‘baby’ of the line is able to reproduce the full tones of a
grand piano,” Carolyn Koh, Vice President and COO said. “And yet, he said he still wanted more. He wanted to
be able to play electronic dance beats at full volume.”

“All the models of the G7 series deliver more apparent bass than what you would expect from the -3dB point of
the frequency response,” agreed Gary, “However, I was playing ‘Frankie Goes to Hollywood’ loud one day on the
Foxtrots and I wanted just a little bit more. If you want a full-on pipe organ, you will still need many more
woofers, or bigger woofers, but I think that the Samba will get you most of the way there.”

Coming on the heels of a great review of the G7 Foxtrot on The Tracking Angle

Master Turntable and Dark-Light tonearm by our partner Profundo Audio in Room 1423 at the Hilton Anatole
