Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac Research has announced a new fundraising round of $17.73-million USD – the company’s largest round to date – bringing their total valuation to $142-million.
Dirac is the digital audio solutions provider behind blue chip brands such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, BMW, Volvo, Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi, Motorola, Harman, Klipsch, RHA, and many more.
These proceeds will be used to develop its next-generation of AI-based digital audio solutions – across automotive, headphones, mobile, AR/ VR, streaming, and more – that will further solidify the company as a leader in an audio industry that’s now being driven by software innovation rather than hardware.
After years as a secondary feature, high-quality and spatial audio is increasingly in demand – as evidenced by recent announcements from Spotify, Apple, and Amazon. All of these companies are committing to investing in high-quality audio, and – with this round – Dirac intends to be the driving force behind this audio innovation.
