D-BOX Technologies Inc. (DBO.A on the TSX Venture Exchange) announced today that the release of Universal Pictures' action-thriller "Fast Furious" on April 3, 2009, will represent
the first theatrical feature to use its D-BOX Motion Code(TM) technology.
With "Fast Furious", D-BOX will introduce theatrical moviegoers to the
added dimension of realistic D-BOX motion effects, providing an innovative and
immersive experience. For the release of "Fast Furious", D-BOX will have two
theaters deployed with exclusive viewing areas that are equipped with special
D-BOX-enhanced seating.
"We are very proud to showcase our immersive D-BOX Motion Code(TM)
technology with 'Fast Furious' from Universal," stated Claude Mc Master,
President and Chief Executive Officer of D-BOX Technologies. "This will be a
first for moviegoers as they will be able to not only watch the movie, but
also feel the action like never before in a commercial theatre environment."
The "Fast Furious" D-BOX motion experience will be available at the
Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood, CA, and at the UltraStar Surprise Pointe 14 in
Surprise, AZ. Additionally, a D-BOX demonstration kiosk will be installed in
each theater's lobby prior to the "Fast Furious" release, giving patrons the
opportunity to test drive D-BOX's immersive movie experience.
In "Fast Furious", Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reteam for the ultimate
chapter of the franchise built on speed. Heading back to the streets where it
all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to blast
muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican
desert in the new high-octane action-thriller.
When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto
(Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Walker). But as they
are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an
uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. And from convoy heists to
precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best
way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.
