D-BOX Technologies Inc. a leader in innovative motion technology for the
entertainment industry, is showcasing its much anticipated new GPH-120 Hybrid
Motion system at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show (in booth
No. 21537, South Hall 1, Las Vegas Convention Center). Quite possibly the
strongest consumer value that D-BOX has offered to date, this complete gaming
and home theatre Motion system features two robust robotic motion actuators
built into a sleek modern-design gaming seat, delivering real-time
responsiveness (up to 2Gs of acceleration!) to onscreen actions including
pitch, roll and virtual heave. Complete with D-BOX's KAI-1P USB Motion
interface, the GPH-120 carries a suggested retail price of $US 2,999 and will
be available online at www.d-box.com and through speciality retailers in the
first half of 2009.
"We have put significant effort into creating a system that delivers the
distinctive realistic motion effect experience that has made D-BOX a buzz word
among gamers and home theatre enthusiasts alike, yet at a price point that
more people can consider," stated Claude Mc Master, President and Chief
Executive Officer of D-BOX Technologies. "We call the GPH-120 a Hybrid system
because it bridges the gap between the home theatre and gaming markets. This
represents an important milestone for D-BOX in the fast growing gaming market
as it positions us perfectly for the eventual compatibility of our technology
with major gaming consoles."
The GPH-120 is an interactive entertainment enthusiast's dream system,
designed to withstand the often brutal and relentless, hour-after-hour usage
common to hardcore gamers. From riding a stick shift on a high-speed
Indy-styled racetrack to controlling a jet fighter plane in free fall, the
comfortable, compact and consumer customizable GPH-120 system can be expanded
through the purchase of accessory brackets and mounts which accommodate
addition of a steering wheel and accelleration pedal. Furthermore, a home
theater-styled footrest can be added to watch movies for a truly realistic
motion experience.
HOW IT WORKS
Through the KAI-1P USB-connected D-BOX Motion Code interface, the system
captures the user feedback and sends signals back to the system, triggering
the two actuators, and delivering the movement sensations of pitch, roll,
heave and intelligent vibration. The system reacts instantaneously, in real
time, with absolutely no delay, like no other systems on the market.
The fully-adjustable GPH 120 reclining/adjustable gaming seat/system is
compatible with many popular PC based video games including: Need For Speed
Undercover (Electronic Arts), GRID (Codemasters), iRacing, Crysis Warhead
(Crytek), rFactor (Image Space), Nitro Stunt Racing (GameSeed), Live For
Speed, Battlefield 2 (Electronic Arts), Microsoft Flight Simulator X and X
Plane 9 (Laminar Research). The GPH-120 is also fully compatible with more
than 850 movie titles available for home theatre usage on Blu-ray and DVD
format.
