Special Features

The immense supplemental section is rewardingly informative in its coverage of the complete production history filled with the filmmakers profiles, publicity stills, props, storyboards, fantasy sequences, scripts, advertising and theatrical trailer. Two documentaries are featured, one on the making of the movie with cast and crew interviews, the other on the conflict that developed between Gilliam and Universal Pictures after the footage was shot. CLV sides 9 and 10 feature Universal’s 96 minute TV cut of the film in full screen known as Love Conquers All, which utilizes alternate cuts and footage that never appeared in the legitimate version of Brazil. Gillian’s commentary accompanies the feature.

Story Synopsis

Brazil is an off-beat, fantastical black comedy that links the director’s “Dreams” trilogy—Time Bandits, Brazil and The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen, Jonathan Pryce stars as Sam Lowry, a man smothered by bureaucracy and led to insanity by bringing his recurring symbolic dreams into the real world.
