WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
In the psychological thriller Copycat, a forensic psychologist (Sigourney Weaver), becomes agoraphobic after a horrifying attack by a serial killer (Harry Connick, Jr.). When a new serial killer emerges and murders his victims using the methods of infamous murderers of the past—in the same order listing in the psychologist’s book—she is called on by the police to find answers in the investigation.
LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture is sharp and detailed with a natural look. Colors are vivid with natural fleshtones and deep, solid blacks. The picture is clean with no noise or artifacts.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
An aggressive surround and deep bass punctuates the violence and suspense scenes. Various room ambiances and directionalized sound effects complement this excellent presentation. Effective use of room tone to define each scene’s soundfield is exemplary. An expansive music score provides added surround envelopment.
