WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Lord Of Illusions is certain to please fans of the celebrated director Clive Barker, both in terms of presentation quality and content. Scott Bakula stars as a private detective who stumbles upon a supernatural mystery involving the legendary illusionist Philip Swann (Kevin J. O’Connor), who was presumably killed while performing, and the diabolical force behind Swann’s magical powers.

LaserDisc Picture:
Masterful visual effects and vivid colors are stunning supports for the 1.90:1 matted picture. Color fidelity is excellent, with natural fleshtones and deep blacks. There are some inconsistencies in sharpness. There is slight noise throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital AC-3® soundtrack is thrilling, dynamic and enveloping, but not dramatically better than the matrix version.
