Subscribe FreeThe Assignment is a smart and absorbing suspense thriller that features Donald Sutherland as CIA agent Jack Shaw, who has been tracking international assassin Carlos “The Jackal” Sanchez (Aidan Quinn) for decades. When Shaw meets Annibal Ramirez (Quinn in a dual role), an upstanding American naval officer who is Carlos’ dead ringer, Shaw realizes he could use Annibal to help trap the Jackal. All he has to do is transform the family man into a vicious terrorist. With the help of his Israeli Intelligence counterpart (Ben Kingsley), Shaw trains Ramirez to impersonate Carlos through physical and psychological excercises and draws the real killer out of hiding.
