WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Don Juan DeMarco is a sensuous comedy about an infectious dreamer. Marlon Brando stars as Dr. Jack Meckler, a psychologist who takes on the case of treating a delusional young man (Johnny Depp) who believes he is the legendary lover Don Juan DeMarco.
LaserDisc Picture:
This 1.85:1 matted picture exhibits excellent quality throughout—sharpness, contrast, color fidelity—and no noise or artifacts.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
Unfortunately, the front right and back right channels are switched on the Dolby AC-3 encoding, the PCM matrix soundtrack is correct. Image Entertainment intends to correct this on a new pressing. Otherwise the sound is not exceptional, just conventional movie stereo in every aspect on both versions.
