WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Hunted is a visually captivating kaleidoscope of an action thriller from the creator of Under Siege. Christopher Lambert stars as Paul Racine, an American executive abroad in Japan. The movie is a general exploitation of both cultures toying with the exotic. Racine becomes the target of assassins, after he witnesses the decapitation of a beautiful woman (Joan Chen) whom he spent the evening with. Her killer is the legendary Kinjo (John Lone).

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture exhibits a naturally rich and vibrant color scheme, and natural fleshtones. The picture is sharp and detailed with excellent contrast and absence of noise, grain and artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack’s core is the dynamic music performed by Kodõ. Throughout, the mood is set by the drum cadences of the Japanese group, to which the surround envelopment is limited. Otherwise the sound is a disappointment due to its monaural presence.
