WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
The Brady Bunch Movie is an almost surreal, if not ridiculous comedy based on the 1970’s television series created by Sherwood Schwartz. Almost everything can be imagined as the same except one important detail: it’s the 90’s. Of course there are family dilemmas and lessons to be learned and the Brady’s definitely have their own way of dealing with things. One thing is for sure, they all seem to have a good time. Oh, and those clothes!
LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture is sharp and detailed. The interior sets are TV bright with exceptionally vivid colors and natural fleshtones. Blacks are deep and solid. There is no noise, grain or artifacts for a clean look.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventional but with a well recorded music score that provides subtle surround envelopment. Otherwise its mono with the occasional surround ambient effect.
