WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
“Crocodile” Dundee, was the comedy smash-hit of 1986, starring Paul Hogan as Michael J. Dundee, the crocodile hunter from the Australian outback, a hard drinking, free-spirited, tough-living, “wonda from down-unda.” His visit to New York with beautiful reporter Sue Charlton, played by Linda Kozlowski, brings him in contact with the kind of city-folk he’s never met before.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture features great cinematography although the frame has been recomposed at 2.18:1 from the theatrical scope aspect ratio. Color is vivid with solid blacks and excellent shadow detail, highlighted by excellent contrast. Fleshtones are naturally rendered. There is some slight grain but no artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® soundtrack is marvelous with effective surround envelopment and a dynamic music score with touches of Aboriginal instruments. It has excellent spatial quality and good dialogue intelligibility.
