WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Blank Check is a charming comedy about an 11 year-old who becomes suddenly rich beyond his wildest dreams. Preston Waters, (Brian Bonsall), has always been lectured on the work ethic by his tight fisted father when after having his bike run over by a crook is given a blank check as a quick settlement. He fills it in for a million dollars and suddenly he is rich beyond his wildest dreams. He indulges his every whim in an extravagant spending spree, buying his own house and stocking it with every conceivable fun-filled diversion. Finally the bad guys come to call and Preston finds that $1 million doesn’t buy all that he had hoped for.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 matted picture is first rate and sure to please with accurate fleshtones vibrant colors, sharply defined blacks and shadows, excellent contrast and no distracting grain or artifacts. Images are naturally rendered for a clean, solid presentation.

The Dolby Surround® soundtrack has good surround envelopment and directional effects. Dialogue is always intelligible. The music score is well recorded and spatially dynamic for a pleasing presence with deep, extended bass.
