WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Black Beauty is based on the classic 1877 novel by Anna Sewell about the life of a spirited horse and the different owners he has had. Told through the eyes of the kindly equine, Beauty shares his experiences at the hands of unfeeling humans, as well as his days serving much kinder masters. Children especially will enjoy this faithful retelling of the inspirational tale.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is superb with no serious artifacts to mar the 1.85:1 matted presentation. Images are sharp with excellent detail. Deep blacks and good shadow detail combine with good color fidelity and contrast, and fleshtones that are always natural looking.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® soundtrack is great with nicely spatial, but subtle surrounds and a wonderful score by Danny Elfman.
