WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The World Wildlife Federation production of Anima Mundi is a rare film experience that draws the viewer closer to the natural world and its species. Director Godfrey Reggio uses vivid, breathtaking images to create face-to-face encounters with creatures large and small—and so diverse—it seems unbelievable. The DVD can also be played properly equipped DVD-ROMs.

LaserDisc Picture:
This is nature film with stunningly photographed wildlife animal sequences captured with extreme closeup compositions that are mesmerizing in their natural beauty. Detail is excellent as is the natural color rendering of the spectacular cinematography. Slight grain and artifacts are apparent in some scenes. The picture is matted at 1.82:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
Philip Glass has fashioned a riveting instrumental musical score that captures the power and beauty of life revealed in this living world kaleidoscope of wildlife. The soundtrack is well recorded with good dynamics and spatial soundstaging.
