Angie, based upon the novel Angie, I Says by Avra Wing, is a romantic comedy directed by Martha Cooliage (Rambling Rose, Lost In Yonkers). Gina Davis stars as Angie, a bright, fun-loving neighborhood girl who upon finding herself unexpectedly pregnant decides that she cannot marry the father, her long time fiance. She’s determined get more out of life. She has met a charming Irishman, (Stephen Rea), but their whirlwind romance abruptly ends upon the birth of her baby. Feeling emotionally distraught she decides that her own life will be put in order if she can locate her own missing Mother, and abandons her newborn while she embarks on a cross-country journey of hope.
