WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
This Best Documentary Academy Award®-winner brilliantly captures the rock concert event of the 20th Century. This release, as with the previous LaserDisc release, has its sights restored and its sounds revitalized. This is the 25th anniversary edition which features an additional 40 minutes of never-before-seen footage.

LaserDisc Picture:
The movie, shot entirely in 16mm 1.37:1 is presented in its original widescreen multi-image format with multi-aspect ratios measured between 2.90:1 and 1.80:1. Various split-screen and multiscreen, and double-NTSC screen compositions provide an al-most “home movie” effect, and the picture quality throughout is extremely variable. The raw picture quality does, however, capture the emotion and energy depicted in this mesmerizing trip down Rock’s memory lane.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is has a passable stereo presence and conveys the rawness of the “live sound” Rock concert performances.
