WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Named Best Picture Of The Year by the National Board of Review and nominated for nine Academy Awards® (including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress), Howards End is a compelling adaptation of E.M. Forster’s classic novel of Edwardian England. The story is about the Schlegal sisters (Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter) and how their lives are shattered by Margaret’s marriage to a rich widower (Anthony Hopkins).

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.00:1 framed picture has a film-like warmth with excellent color fidelity overall and accurate flesh tones.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is pleasant although with a trace of analog noise throughout, but with surrounds that envelop.
