WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Academy® Award-winning drama, Bugsy, tells the story of real-life mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Seigel (Beatty) who, after coming to the West Coast in the 1940s, to expand the chicago mob operations, formulated a plan to transform a mostly desolate strip of land in the Nevada desert into an oasis of entertainment and gambling.

LaserDisc Picture:
The very stylish-looking visuals of cinematographer Allen Daviau are pronounced on this magnificent transfer by Lou Levinson. The film has a soft look with excellent color balance and sharpness. The Oscar®-winning art direction looks ravishing in the exquisitely-framed widescreen composition. The aspect ratio is about 1.76:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The beautiful and moving score by Ennio Morricone provides a steady pace to the exquisite visuals. The Dolby® Surround provides an excellent sense of envelopment.
