WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
A sequel of sorts to the Arnold Schwarzenegger hit of 1987, but sans Arnold. It’s Los Angeles circa 1997 and the “predator” from another planet is chomping down on urban riff-raff and cops, bringing their remains home as trophies. It’s up to Glover and crew to beat the monster at its own game. Solid, punchy action.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality of the transfer is good. The aspect ratio is matted to 1.85:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is panoramic, tight, punchy and spectacular, always an enhancement to the thrill-a-second action. There are explosions with rumbling bass, lots of Foley one-on-one combat sounds, and eerie sound effects that put you almost inside the predator’s ugly head. The thrilling music score by Alan Silvestri keeps the tension of the films at a constant high. The soundtrack recordings are ultra-dynamic with excellent three-dimensional soundstaging.
