WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Dave is a witty political satire starring Kevin Kline as Dave, an off-the-wall temp agency recruiter whose uncanny resemblance of the President finds himself being pursued by the Secret Service to be a visual stand-in. His act becomes extended when something serious befalls the real President and Dave finds himself performing the ultimate masquerade, complete with a First Lady and all the dirty politics of the President’s men.

LaserDisc Picture:
This is a gorgeous looking image with a soft, yet sharp quality. The matted transfer has an aspect ratio of 1.95:1. Dark scenes have excellent shadow detail and contrast. Color fidelity is excellent except for a slight pinkish tint to flesh tones. There is not a trace of artifacts to mar the picture quality.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is superbly recorded with exceptionally clear dialogue. Overall, it is very well balanced with a subtle surround envelopment. Shawn Murphy’s recording of James Newton’s fine music score is wonderful and exemplary of the finest CD recordings.
