Subscribe FreeWhile Roslyn Taber (Monroe) is in Reno to complete her divorce, she meets up with aging cowboy Gay Langland. They invite her to go out to the country, if not to briefly escape her troubles and learn how to live in the peace and quiet. She agrees to stay on for a while, and is drawn to the different kind of way that Gay treats her. But when she learns of a plan that Gay and his buddies, Guido and Perce (Eli Wallach and Clift), have concocted - to corral a herd of mustangs and sell them for dog food - the kindhearted Roslyn is appalled. However, she never loses hope in him that he will respect her feelings and do the right thing. "The Misfits" was the last film for both Gable and Monroe. (Suzanne Hodges)
