Crime novelist Catherine Tramell (Stone) is in trouble again when detective Roy Wahsburn (Thewlis) connects her to the mysterious death of an athlete. Of course, Tramell uses her intellect and Basic Instinct 2 cast a spell on her criminal psychologist (Morrissey). Based on characters created by Joe Eszterhas. (Suzanne Hodges)

Special features include commentary with Director Michael Caton-Jones, an 11-minute Between The Sheets: A Look Inside Basic Instinct 2 featurette, and a preview.

The 2.40:1 MPEG-2 encoded Blu-ray Disc picture features deep blacks, a satisfying color scheme, and a high level of detail. This is one of the more consistent Blu-ray Disc releases to date. Still, the image can have a flat appearance. (Danny Richelieu)

With its good fidelity, the 5.1-channel linear PCM soundtrack does sound good. A high-pitched hum can be heard throughout the presentation, although it isn't too distracting. The mix is rather uninspiring, and there really is no congruency between the front and rear stages. (Danny Richelieu)
