"Sisu: Road To Revenge" is an explosive action event, a sequel to the original sleeper hit "Sisu". Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, Antami Korpi, “the man who refuses to die” (Jorma Tommila), dismantles it and loads it onto a truck, determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the Red Army commander who killed his family (Stephen Lang) comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues –– a fight to the death, full of clever, unbelievable action set pieces.. (Gary Reber)

Special features include alternate ending (HD 0:41), the featurette "Upping The Ante" (HD 03:03)and a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Cooke Anamorphic/i FF and Sony Venice camera systems and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. As with the original "Sisu," the imagery is astonishingly gorgeous with a rich and warm color palette that perfectly displays the rugged, near barren terrain that is Finish Lapland. The Finnish landscape is flat with extensive green flats bordering each side of a dirt gravel road in which Antami Korpi, “the man who refuses to die,” fights and eliminates one-by-one those who would have him dead. The imagery is perfectly natural. Color capture is incredibly nuanced in hue shading of the grasses and dirt open landscape. The color palette exhibits naturally saturated hues that are never exaggerated. Flesh tones appear realistic. HDR contrast is excellent with natural highlights and dark shady characteristics, Black levels are natural and shadow delineation is superb. Resolution is painfully detailed in the violent-prone scenes and clearly exhibited throughout in every scene. The visuals exhibit incredible textural depth. Facial detail is exceptional, especially during closeups, with fine lines, open wounds, scars, skin pores, and beards finely resolved. Clothing displays fine woven textures and object texture is incredibly realistic, This is an incredibly compelling visual experience that is an absolute treat for the eyes. A home theatre delight. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with powerful sound effects that sound realistic, such a intense gunfire, guns fired from airplanes and rocket explosions, as well as the sounds of an old workhorse truck and tank. The effects are heightened with powerful bass transients. Deep bass energy is delivered by the .1 LFE channel in intense explosions and during violent segments. Driving action sequences there is an intense orchestra/choral score by Juri Seppä and Tuomas Wäinölä . The music occupies a wide soundstage that aggressively extends to the surrounds. Surround envelopment is virtually constant and mostly aggressive. Foley sound effects enhance the realism and provide excellent nuances. Dialogue sounds intelligible and while mostly ADR is well integrated spatially.

The Immersive Sound element is comprised of an extension of the orchestra/choral score to the heigh layer as well as various atmospherics such as wind, rain and sound effects, such lightening and thunder, truck and jeep engine noise, horn, road noise, explosions, airplane sounds, airplane gunfire, bomb blasts, crashing sounds and more. This is a well crafted height layer treatment that effectively enhances the dimensionality of the sound field.

This is an intensely violent holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that delivers pure excitement with superb dimensionality. (Gary Reber)
