The 2.39:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The setting is Fackham Hall with its elaborate furnishings and architectural features, as well as a jail and church. This is the set for the comedic, slapstick proceedings. Picture quality is excellent. The color palette is nicely saturated with warm hues. Flesh tones appear natural. Contrast is excellent. Blacks are naturally deep. Shadow delineation is revealing. White levels are realistically illuminated. Resolution is satisfying though slightly softly focused. Facial features are distinguished. Costumes are revealing of fabrics. Structural features and appointments and objects therein appear realistic. This is a visually entertaining setting and picture that is satisfying. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack features elements, especially dialogue, that are comedic. Atmospherics sound realistic. Sound effects are generally reserved, though there are shotgun blasts during a hunt and an instance of a police car siren. The orchestra score is generally a background element though it does spread wide and deep into the surrounds. Dialogue is the real focus and the lines are indeed silly and funny. Dialogue is delivered with generally good spatial integration even during narration moments. This is a satisfying comedic holosonic® soundtrack. (Gary Reber)
