The repurposed Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is incredibly dynamic and boisterous sounding. Atmospherics are incredibly realistic and vivid sounding, such as the insect sounds of the jungle, as are sound effects, which are prominent throughout and devour the listening space. The jungle sounds realistic and provides immersive ambience. Sound effects include water surges, rainstorms, intense gunfire and explosions boosted with intense and powerful deep bass including strong .1 LFE frequencies down to sub-25 Hz. Randy Edelman's orchestra score is intense and haunting with a wide and deep soundstage and aggressive extension to the surrounds. Surround energy is aggressive and powerful with the entire sound field devoured with environmental envelopment. Dialogue is well integrated spatially throughout.
The Immersive Sound element enhances dimensionality effectively with the score extended to the height layer as well as atmospherics and sound effects, such as powerful storm thunder and rain, sounds of mayhem and danger, Anaconda hissing sounds, gunfire, explosions and much, much more. This is an incredibly effective height layer treatment.
This is an exciting holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that perfectly captures the sounds of the jungle environment and the horrific transpiring dangerous events. Be prepared to jump out of your seat in terror. A real winner for home theatre enthusiasts. (Gary Reber)
