The 1.85:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa 35 camera system and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits natural and realistic imagery. The color palette is nicely saturated with vividly warm and rich hues. Nothing is exaggerated. Reds are strong. Flesh tones appear natural, though at times reddish. Contrast is balanced. Blacks are deep. Shadows are revealing. White levels are naturally illuminated. The imagery is sharp and clear. Resolution is excellent with fine detail exhibited in facial features, clothing and objects, as well as the cityscape settings and backdrops. This is a warm, satisfying picture. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic with realistic city atmospherics that image nicely throughout the sound field. Sound effects, such as heavy punches and kicks, are supported with solid, but never overpowering, bass response and extension in the .1 LFE channel. The orchestral score and music are background elements and with wanting fidelity. Surround extension is excellent with direction. Dialogue if at times ADR produced and quite forward sounding. Overall, this is a holosonic® soundtrack that varies in quality and not sonically unique. (Gary Reber)
