In "Companion," a weekend getaway with friends at a remote cabin turns into chaos after it's revealed that one of the guests is not what they seem. (Gary ?Reber)

Special features include the featurettes "I Feel, Therefore I Am" (HD 05;42), "Love, El" (HD 04:36) and "AI Horror" (HD 05:09) and a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® using the Arri Alexa 35 camera system and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is excellent and exhibits superb clarity. The setting is a remote lake house with a forest view. Four friends gather for an outing along with two companion humanoid robots. Colors exhibit warm and rich hues that appear perfectly natural. and accurate. Colors are well saturated. Flesh tones appear natural; even the humanoid tones. HDR contrast is excellent with natural black levels, realistic shadows, and brilliant light levels. Resolution is excellent with fine detail resolved throughout in facial features skin pores, makeup, and hair. Clothing is revealing of fabric texture. Environmental features, structures and objects exhibit fine textures. This is a great looking picture with a perfectly natural appearance. (Gary Reber.)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack sounds realistic with subtle atmospherics and the occasional dynamic sound effect such as gunfire. There is at times a deep foundation of bass and gunfire is supported with energy. Foley sound effects are in perfect sync with picture. Hrishikesh Hirway's music is dynamic sounding with a wide and deep soundstage with extension to the surrounds. Surround energy is aggressive. Dialogue is intelligible throughout with good spatial integration.

The Immersive Surround element is comprised of solely sporadic extensions of the music and gunfire to the height channel. Otherwise most of the time thee is no signal in the height channels. More could have been achieved to enhance the spherical dimensionality of the sound field.

This is a nicely complementary holosonic® soundtrack to this unusual love story with a telling of a humanoid future. (Gary Reber)
