The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with realistic Western atmospherics and sound effects, such as an intense thunder and lighting storm. Gunfire is powerful with blasting bolts of energy. Horse gallops are powerful and realistic. LFE bass output is strong and aggressive and provides support to shootouts and the horses' hoof-fall weight and heft. Foley sound effects are active and realistic sounding. Bruce Broughton's orchestral score is sweeping across the soundstage that aggressively extends to the surrounds. Surround energy is strong and directionalied with excellent definition. Dialogue is intelligible throughout with at times generally good spatial integration –– even ADR. This is a wonderful Western holosonic® soundtrack with exciting and effective sound elements.
