In "A Real Pain," mismatched cousing, David (Jesse Eisenberg) and Benji (Kieran Culkin), reunite for a tour through Poland to hnor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the pair's old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurette "Beautiful Fate: Making A Real Pain" (HD 19:46) and a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa Mini LF camera system and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. Set on locations in Poland, the imagery captures appealing settings and architecture which the heritage group passes through and the characters develop and interact within. The picture exhibits naturalness and realism throughout. The color palette exhibits natural hues, including flesh tones. Contrast is good with natural black levels, generally good shadow detail and natural light levels. With respect to shadow detail, there are some very low light moments. such as in the concentration camp where shadow detail is not especially abundant. Resolution is generally good, though at times a bit soft. This is a generally satisfying visual experience. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused with both body miking and ADR production, but quite forward sounding. Benji's dialogue is delivered fast and often painfully exhausting. The music accompaniment is largely solo piano interpertations of Chopin pieces, which at times seemingly never ends. Atmospherics are subtle as well as sound effects. Surround envelopment and ambient environmental effects can at times be effectively supportive. Overall, the soundtrack delivers a satisfying holosonic® listening experience with a forward dialogue presence.
