The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic ALFA Scope using the Arri Alexa Mini LF IMAX camera system and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits excellent sharpness and resolution with fine detail revealed throughout. Creatures are unique and nicely defined. Color fidelity is naturally rendered with saturated hues and natural flesh tones. HDR contrast is dynamic with strong black levels, revealing dark shadows and bight highlights. The imagery is characteristic of other Marvel movies in the Vernom series with a cartoonish flavor to the presentation. This is certain to please fans of the comic. (Gary Reber)

As with the past two editions of Venom, the Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is action-packed, loud and extremely active with diverse sound effects enhanced with extremely deep bass extension to sub-25 Hz. The voice of Venon is deep and forceful. Foley sound effects are active and perfectly in sync with the picture. Atmospherics are realistic. Sound effects are dynamic sounding and provide excellent imaging. The sound effects, such as the gunfire and explosion chaos project throughout the soundfield with an aggressive presence and are directionalized amongst the channels. The orchestral score is diverse and occupies a wide and deep soundstage that aggressive ly extends to the surrounds. Surround energy is rather constant, whether nuanced or powerful, and directionalized. Dialogue is intelligible throughout though quite forward and ADR produced..
The Immersive Sound element is comprise of an array of sound effects and atmospherics. Sound effects are numerous, including powerful thunder, wind, turbulent river water, aircraft, vehicles, machine noises, gunfire, whizzing explosions and monster voices, Atmosphetics provide good setting environments in various scenes. There is no music extension. This is a very effect height layer presentation that bolsters the excitement and enhances spherical dimensionality.
This is an exciting holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that is dynamic and bass aggressive that will thrill fans. (Gary Reber)
