Marvel Studios' "Hawkeye" is an original series set in post-blip New York city where former Avenger Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) –– a 22-year-old skilled archer and his biggest fan –– to unravel a criminal conspiracy. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurettes "A Tale Of Two Hawkeyes" and "Assembled: The Making Of Hawkeye", gag reel and 13 deleted scenes.

The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was animated digitally in anamorphic Pznavision® using the Arri Alexa LF and Arri Alexa Mini LF camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate. Picture quality is excellent and can be impressive at times, as in the scene opening the first season depicting the Battle of New York. The production design is focused on the aftermath of everyday affairs with realistic sets and suiting costume designs. Still, the color palette can exhibit nicely saturated hues, which at times pop, as in the bright red costumes the Tracksuit Mafia wears. HDR contrast is excellent. Black levels are solid and shadow delineation is revealing. White levels appear realistic. Resolution also is revealing of fine detail throughout in facial features, costumes, and structural and object textures. This is great looking presentation. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack delivers excellent surround envelopment, often with aggressive force, as in the action set pieces set as in the opening Battle of New York and throughout the six episodes set in various urban environments. Surround directionality is excellent. Bass extension is often energized with deep .1 LFE applications. This benefits sound effects and atmospherics. Dialogue is intelligible throughout.

The Immersive Sound element delivers appreciative dimensionality.

This is a well-crafted holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack. (Gary Reber)
