    "Star Wars: Ahsoka –– The Complete First Season" is set after the fall of the Empire. Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. (Gary Reber)

    Special features include four featurettes: "Ahsoka: Legacy", "Path Of The Apprentice", "Ghosts Of The Past" and "Darkness Rising".

    The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was digitally captured in anamorphic Caldwell Scope using the Arri Alexa LF and Arri Alexa Mini LF camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate. The cinematography presents a visual picture that transforms from near monochrome segments to warmly and richly hued segments as the episodes unfold. Flesh tones appear natural. HDR contrast is excellent with solid black levels and revealing shadows. White levels are realistically illuminated. Resolution exhibits fine detail throughout. Facial features and costumes, such as textures with respect to Ahsoka and other characters, are impressive. Integration of CGI is excellent, This is a terrific looking picture that will delight fans.     The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with powerful sound effects and descriptive atmospherics. The surround channels are constantly engaged, often with sound effects panning from channel to channel during the battle mayhems and spacecraft flying sequences. Bass extension at times lowers to sub-25 Hz frequencies and provides excellent enhancement of the sound effects. Dialogue, including a droid, is intelligible throughout.

    The Immersive Sound element is active with the extension of the score and numerous sound effects, such as flying spacecraft and other prominent action sequences, all of which provide excellent soundfield dimensionality.

    This is a terrific Holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack with an exciting dynamic presence. (Gary Reber)
