In "Bad Boys: Ride Or Die," the world’s favorite Bad Boys (Will Smith and Martin Lawrence) are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your-seat action and outrageous comedy, but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run. When Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) is unjustly accused of a lifetime of drug-related crimes, the Bad Boys vow to clear his name. (Gary Reber)

Special features include four featurettes: "Will & Martin Chemistry, Legacy & Laughs" (HD 03:43), "The Bruckheimer Legacy: Crafting Bad Boys & Beyond" (HD 03:50), "Fights, Camera, Action" (HD 03:59) and "Partners In Crime" (HD 05:23)' five deleted scenes (HD 06:50) and outtakes & bloopers (HD 03:12); previews and a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® using the Arri Alexa 35 and Red V-Raptor 8K VV camera systems and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. The imagery is sharp and clear throughout, and very colorful with strong primaries and aggressive hues. Hue shadings are nuanced and enhance color gamut's visual presence. The color spectrum is wide and lights up the screen. Flesh tones are perfectly natural. HDR contrast is dynamic with deep, solid blacks, good shadow delineation and brilliant white levels. Resolution is excellent throughout. Fine detail is revealed in facial features such as skin pores, lines, beards and hair. Clothing fabrics reveal thread structure. Objects exhibit excellent textural definition. This is an outstanding colorful, bright and dynamic visual experience that will not disappoint. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with extensive sound effects, particularly strong gunfire, screechy car tire sounds and an action helicopter. supported with powerful transient bass. Base extension can extend to sub-25 Hz during sound effects segments, including intense explosions. Atmospherics are realistic sounding. Sound effects energy is prominent. The orchestral score and other various pop and rock tracks are enveloping with a wide and deep soundstage and an aggressively wide surround field. Dialogue is intelligible though heavily ADR produced and forward sounding.

The Immersive Sound element is a prominent element with a virtually constant height layer presence that is consistently strong, with a particular presence in the front half of the layer. Not only is the music extended but atmospherics and selected sound effects, as well as occasional subtle dialogue. The crashing helicopter scene is presented with intense height energy, but that is just one segment, another with heavy rain and more and more. This height layer effectively enhances the spherical dimensional experience, Other filmmakers should take note.

This is an exciting and intense holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that is dynamic sounding and very dimensional. (Gary Reber)
