In "Arthur The King," an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur over the course of a grueling 10-day, 435-mile racecourse. Based on true events, the story follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. Pushing the team to the outer limits of endurance and sacrifice, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty, and friendship truly mean. (Gary Reber)

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® using the Panavision Millennium DXL2 camera system and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. The picture is impressively natural and realistic in appearance, especially during the race scenes. Color fidelity is excellent with perfectly balanced hues. Flesh tones appear accurate. Contrast is well balanced with natural black levels, revealing shadows and realistic light levels. Resolution is revealing of fine detail in facial features, lines, hair and beards, as well as the dog's imagery. This is a beautiful picture that is steep in realism. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7 .1-channel soundtrack is effectively dynamic sounding with an orchestral and music score that spans deep and wide across the soundstage with enveloping extension to the surrounds. Deep bass is for the most part delivered via the music and some sound effects. Atmospherics sound realistic and are distributed throughout the soundfield. Sound effects enhance realism. Foley sound effects are perfectly synced with picture. Dialogue sounds at times well integrated and during racing scenes the dialogue is ADR produced with a forward presence.

The Immersive Sound element is comprised of an extension of the music, lots of atmospheric sounds, sound effects moments and nuanced dialogue to the height layer. In one scene there is an intense rain storm that pours from above. Overall, the experience enhances dimensionality.

This is an exciting multi-terrain atmospheric holosonic® soundtrack that is exciting snd compelling. (Gary Reber)
