"Alice Darling" is a psychological thriller that follos a woman trapped in an abusive relationship who becomes the unwitting participant in an intervention staged by her two closest friends. Alice (Anna Kendrick) is a woman pushed to the breaking point by her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Simon (Charlie Carrick). While on vacation with two close girlfriends, Alice rediscovers the essence of herself and gains some much-needed perspective. Slowly, she stats to fray the cords of codependency that bind her. But Simon's vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering––and, once unleashed, it tests Alice's strength, her courage, and the bonds of her deep-rooted friendship. (Gary Reber)

The picture exhibits a natural appearance with a color palette that projects realism in every picture element, Hues are warm with nice saturation. Flesh tones are perfectly natural. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks, revealing shadows and natural highlights. Resolution is excellent with fine detail exhibited in facial features and hair. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused with realistic atmospheric support. Sound effects are effective and Foley sounds effects really deliver realism in every setting. Surround envelopment is generally nuanced with occasional diectionality. The orchestral score is quietly supportive with a wide soundstage that extends subtly to the surrounds. Dialogue is often ADR with a slightly forward presence. This is a generally quiet soundtrack with a focus on dialogue. (Gary Reber)
