The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in Super 16 and Super 35 using the Arriflex 16 ST, Arriflex 416 and Millennium XL2, camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits realism throughout. The color palette is warm and rich with excellent nuanced hue shadings. Colors are nicely saturated. Flesh tones are perfectly natural. HDR contrast is well balanced with rich black levels, revealing shadows and natural white levels. Resolution is excellent with fine detail exhibited in both outdoor and interior settings, and in the production and costume designs. Facial features are finely detailed. This is a beautiful filmic presentation that displays period realism. (Gary Reber)
The Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused with generally good spatial integration John Williams's lyrical orchestral score is nicely recorded with a wide and deep soundstage that extends to envelop the surrounds. Atmospherics are realistic throughout. Sound effects are complementary to the brief action sequences. Foley sound effects are precise and enhance the realism of the imagery on screen. This is a wonderful dialogue focused holosonic® soundtrack. (Gary Reber)
