The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture is stylized. Segments of the picture exhibit a desaturated color palette, while other segments generally appear natural, Flesh tones thus are affected depending on the stylization. Contrast is generally good, Black levels are deep. Shadow delineation at times is wanting. White levels appear natural, Resolution is generally good, especially during closeups of facial features, clothing, bloody imagery and object textures. This is a visually compelling experience with at times exciting visuals. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic with an aggressive surround field that is constant throughout. Deep, powerful sub-25 Hz .1 LFE bass is a major sound element. Atmospherics are realistic. Sound effects are intense such as object destructions, fighting effects, vehicles and general mayhem. Special visual effects are quite good and exciting. The orchestral score occupies a wide and deep soundstage that extends aggressively to the surrounds. Dialogue is in larger measure ADR produced and wanting in natural spatial integration. Overall, this is an intense holosonic® soundtrack experience with effective aggressive surround envelopment, (Gary Reber)
