The simplified animation exhibits a soft smooth appearance with excellent figure definition. The softness is a production design creation that looks terrific, Fine detail is refined in the line accents. Color fidelity is superb with wonderful nuances hues. The color spectrum is wide and nicely saturated with stone primaries that light up the screen. HDR contrast is wide with solid black levels, excellent shadow delineation and superb white levels. This is a beautifully rendered animated feature that delivers a wonderful color spectrum that is visually compelling. (Gary Reber)
The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is very dynamic with an aggressive music score and intense sound effects that constantly energizes the soundfield with rapid pans and movement throughout. Deep bass effects are often powerful with extension to sub-25 Hz frequencies. Surround energy is aggressive and very directional with all four surround channels constantly active with discretely localized sound effects. The sound effects explode with sharp transient energy. ADR dialogue is intelligible throughout and fun.
The Immersive Sound element is absent an extension of the music, but is spotted with atmospheric din and a variety of panned energized sound effects that underlie the action. If the music had been extended the height layer would have been far more effective.
This is a terrific high-energy holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that delivers excellent fidelity and dynamics. (Gary Reber)
