"Cyrano" is the re-imagining of the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. Cyrano de Bergerac (Peter Dinklage) dzzles with both ferocious wordplay and brilliant swordplay but is convinced that his appearance makes him unworthy of the love of his devoted friend, Rosanne (Haley Bennett), who has fallen in love at first sight with Christian (Kelvin Harrison) Jr. Based on the stage musical. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurette "An Epic Adventure: The Making Of Cyrano" (HD 09:10), upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa LF camera system and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. This is a period setting with candle lit interiors and a richly and warmly saturated color palette. Colors tend to be subdued rather than pop, yet still beautiful in complexity. Flesh tones appear perfectly natural throughout. Contrast is well balanced but on the darker side of the spectrum with deep blacks and shadows that are revealing of excellent depth. White level are naturally subdued though cast dramatic lighting, Resolution is superb, Clothing and object texture are revealing of fine detail that project the realism of the period production design. Facial features capture the detail of expressions and character. Detail in hair and beards are revealing .This is a beautiful looking movie with excellent set designs and colorful imagery. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Surround 7.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue and singing focused and centered on expressions of love. There is a strong orchestral accompaniment that is sweeping and enveloping with a wide and deep soundstage presence that wraps around the surround field. Deep bass provides a natural foundation to the orchestral music. Atmospherics sound realistic as well as sound effects during the action fighting scenes. Foley sound effects are perfectly synchronized and realistic. The singing is a talkative style with expression of love for a woman, This is a great holosonic® orchestral-fused soundtrack that is well produced. (Gary Reber)
