The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally using the Panavision Millennium DXL, Panavision Millennium DXL2, and Red Dragon camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is excellent, The color palette is vivid with strongly saturated hues that often pop. Primaries are strong, Reds prominently pop. Hue shading nuances are wonderful. Flesh tones appear accurate. Contrast is superb, especially during interior scenes, with deep, solid blacks, revealing shadow delineation and natural white levels. Lighting effects enhance the colorful production design. Resolution is superb with fine detail exhibited throughout. Costumes reveal elaborate fabric weaves; object textures are well define and facial feature and complexions are finely detailed. This is a real looker in terms of color and production design. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is nicely dynamic with terrific music that is upbeat throughout with a very wide stereo soundstage and aggressive surround envelopment, Many music segments have driving rhythmic African drum beats. Atmospherics are realistic and sound effect are effectively supportive. Foley sound effects are precise. Surround energy also effectively envelops with an aggressive presence. Bass is deep but natural sounding. Dialogue is intelligible throughout and for the most part well integrated spatially. This is well-crafted holosonic® soundtrack that is a fun trip. Really entertaining! (Gary Reber)
