In "Antlers," a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, seek to help a troubled young boy who harbors a strange secret. The consequences are more dreadful than they could have imagined. This is a tale of reckoning that ties a horrifying ancient terror to the modern plagues of poverty, addiction, and environmental devastation brought on by insatiable greed. (Gary Reber)

Special features include seven featurettes: "The Evil Within" (HD 05:43), "An Exploration Of Modern Horror With Guillermo Del Toro" (HD 03:03), "Artifacts And Tokens" (HD 02:40), "Gods Walk Among Us" (HD 06:24), "Metamorphosis" HD 03:12), "Cry Of The Wendigo" (HD 03:07) and "Comic-Con @ Home With Scott Cooper & Guillermo Del Toro" (HD 41:15); the theatrical trailer; upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K
Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater
resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally using the Sony CineAlta Venice camera system and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits a natural appearance with a disturbing emotional impact. Colors are earthy and reflect the small-town mountain setting. Fleshtones project a warm natural appearance. Contrast is nicely balanced with deep shadows and natural black levels. Lighting highlights effectively enhance the imaging. Resolution is generally good and realistic, though, many scenes are so shadowy and dark that the imagery is softened. Overall, the picture delivers imagery of a haunting and horrific nature and is compelling throughout. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is spooky with a dynamic presence that builds with extended powerful deep bass to sub-25 Hz throughout. Atmospherics sound realistic and enhance the creepiness and mysterious story. Sound effects are at times powerful. Foley sound effects are perfectly synced. Javier Navarrete's orchestral/choral score is a predominant sound element that delivers an emotional feel to the story. Surround energy is strong and powerfully enveloping. This is a very well-crafted terrifying holosonic® soundtrack. (Gary Reber)
