"Stillwater" follows Bill Baker (Matt Damon), an American oil rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseilles to visit his estranged daughter (Abigail Breslin), in prison for a murder she
claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurettes "An Alchemy Of Viewpoints" (HD 05:17), "An American In Marseilles: The Locations" (HD 93:15) and "With Curiosity & Compassion: Director Tom McCarthy" (HD 03:25), upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa Mini LF and Arri Alexa Mini camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture appears to be stylized with a layer of fine digital noise to create an edgy appearance. The imagery exhibits naturalness throughout with a very cinematic appearance. The color palette is rendered perfectly natural with realistically saturated hues. Fleshtones are natural throughout. Contrast is realistic as well with excellent shadow delineation, natural black levels and realistic white levels. Resolution is a bit soft but clarity is generally satisfying, especially during closeups of facial features, clothing and objects, and especially interiors of buildings and the flat Bill lives in, exhibit good detail. This is a very filmic presentation with location setting realism throughout. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused throughout with excellent spatial integration. Atmospherics are realistic and indicative of inner urban settings in Marseilles. Sound effects enhance the realism of the city setting and the unfolding of the story. The orchestral score is very prominent and nicely complements the storytelling and the mystery buildup. This is a very satisfying and effective holoosonic® soundtrack that continuously envelops the surrounds and the soundfield, This is a very compelling presentation. (Gary Reber)
