"Ferris Bueller's Day Off" puts a new spin on calling in sick from school. Ferris (Broderick) uses his tremendous ability to snow his teachers and parents to take a day off. He gathers up his girlfriend (Sara) and his best pal (Ruck) and they head off for a day of adventure in downtown Chicago; while back at home, their suspicious principal and Ferris' frighteningly jealous sister (Grey) are trying to catch Ferris in the act of lying. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the following featurettes: "Getting The Class Together—The Cast Of Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (SD 27:45), "The Making Of Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (SD 15:29), "Who Is Ferris Bueller?" (SD 09:12), "The World According To Ben Stein" (SD 10:51), and "Vintage Ferris Bueller: The Lost Tapes" (SD 10:16); a Class Album photo gallery and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed on Eastman film stock using Panavision cameras and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Colors are nicely saturated, with well-balanced fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp and nicely detailed.. While some scenes are still a bit soft and dated, this Blur-ray is certain to satisfy videophile fans of the movie. The source element has been cleaned up and restored. This is a very enjoyable visual experience. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD MasterAudio™ Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack is effectively engaging, with clear and intelligible dialogue clarity. Overall, the soundfied is active all around. The music track is mixed well across the front stage, but the depth into the surrounds is generally low relative levels, making it subtle. Sound effects are subtle and predominantly originate from the screen. (Gary Reber)
