The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is naturally dynamic sounding. Atmospherics are realistic and enveloping. Sound effects are at times intense and sharp, as well as powerful, such as gunfire and crashes. Deep bass, when energized, is powerful and extends to sub025 Hz. The orchestral score is well recorded with instrumental delineation and natural timbre and dynamic resolution. Surround envelopment is nicely supportive but not aggressive. The focus is frontal with a wide and deep soundstage. The music element provides effective surround energy Dialogue is at times heavily accentuated but is clear and generally well integrated spatially.
The Immersive Sound element is comprised of the orchestral score extensively extended to the height channel, which at times is very aggressive. Also there are various atmospherics and sound effects sporadically placed, such as a bird chirping, dog barks, dialogue during the tool shed basement marijuana facility, intense swish sounds, outdoor ambience, city ambience and other sporadic sound effects. Overall, the music carries this element, which makes for a dimensional extension to the ear-level sonics.
This is an effectively enjoyable holosonic® spherical surround soundtrack that is well crafted to support the intriguing storyline. (Gary Reber)
