When townspeople start dying from a mysterious illness, "Abigail's" (Dalakishvili) town closes itself off from the outside world and takes away everyone infected with the disease, including Abigail's beloved father, to be executed. Ten years later, as she's trying to escape the town's security forces, Abby uncovers a shocking truth––her father may still be alive. Filled with danger and discoveries, Abby sets out on a magical steampunk adventure that overturns everything she once knew about the world, her family, and even herself. (Gary Reber)

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Production design is superb with engaging imagery throughout. Color fidelity is naturally hued with richness and warmth. Fleshtones are naturally rendered. Contrast is excellent. Black levels are deep and shadows are well delineated. Lighting effects are visually stunning. Resolution is superb with fine nuanced detail exhibited throughout, Smoke is finely resolved throughout. This is a very visually enchanting experience with imaginative fantasy imagery. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is comprised of soundfield envelopment that is virtually constant with a strong surround presence. Atmospherics, such as Abigail wandering through imaginative street settings, enhance the proceedings nicely. Sound effects are magically and sonically appealing and at times explosive. The orchestral score is intense, supported with a deep bass foundation. Overall, deep bass is often powerful with aggressive sub-25 Hz .1 LFE energy. Dialogue is often ADR produced but intelligible. This is a very satisfying and engaging holosonic® soundtrack that perfectly complements the imaginative visuals. (Gary Reber)
